ALICIA MORALES · FOR MAYOR
The Township delivered new services on $3.78 million in grants — not on your property taxes. City Hall can do the same.
The pipeline shouldn't be paid for by families alone. The corporations who use the most should pay their share.
Our air, our water, and our power grid aren't for sale.
The record
I chair the Finance Committee at Joliet Junior College and I'm the trustee who sits across from the college president for his annual review. As Township Clerk and then Supervisor, we launched violence intervention, rides for seniors, free tax prep, and summer internships — all on grants, not tax hikes. I know how government works, and I know how to make it work for you.

Priorities
07 PRIORITIES
Hold the line on taxes. Make big users pay their share of water.
Protect our air, water, and grid.
Clean up downtown and our neighborhoods. Fund what keeps families safe.
Fix what's broken and plan a river crossing that doesn't open.
A center that connects housing, treatment, and support — the model that's cutting crime in other Illinois cities.
Every city project built by local union labor.
No corporate PAC money. My vote is not for sale.
Why I'm running
“I'm looking out for the little guy. I always have.”
I raised my kids in Joliet as a single mom. I know what it's like to choose between fixing the air conditioner and paying the bills. Joliet Junior College changed my life — I went from a JJC classroom to an MBA, a teaching license, and my own business on [PLACEHOLDER: street/neighborhood]. I didn't come this far to watch our city get more expensive and less clean. I'm running because the people who pay the bills deserve a seat at the table.
